If we find a swarm of bees<\/a><\/strong> on your property or in a public area, avoid disturbing the swarm and call Animal Species Control<\/a><\/strong>.<\/a><\/strong><\/p> \n \n

Bee colonies have only one queen bee<\/a>.\nQueens are easy to recognize by their large abdomen and the retinue of workers that follow and surround her. <\/p> \n \n

If a second queen appears in the colony, workers<\/a> will force one queen out of the hive or both queens will fight until only one queen prevails. <\/p> \n \n

A swarm of bees<\/strong> is just the expelled queen and some of her workers looking for a new home.\nThe bees together with the queen choose a site, usually a branch of a tree, the side of a building, or as in today’s case where the bees intervened, a new home. Animal Species Control<\/a><\/strong>on the roll-bar of a ship. <\/p> \n \n

Animal Species Control<\/a><\/strong>will collect the swarm and give it a new home in one of their hives.<\/p> \n \n

On other occasions, the site chosen for the new hive may be a facade; in this case, the swarm was already installed and had already made its hive. Control de Especies, SL<\/a><\/strong> moved the entire hive to the field, giving it a second life, after deworming for varroa.<\/p> \n \n
